FoxTales Wildlife Rehab
News and Events
*FoxTales Wildlife Rehab is not a wildlife zoo*
FoxTales regularly receives inquiries from the public requesting a tour of our rehab facility. Please remember that FoxTales Wildlife Rehab is a rehabilitation center for wildlife. Our mission is to rescue the injured, sick or orphaned wildlife; rehabilitate the wildlife; and then release the wildlife to live a free life and take its rightful place in our ecosystem. It is critical that exposure to human presence remain at a minimum. Rehabilitation involves limiting all human exposure, including to the rehabber who is treating the wildlife. It is essential that wildlife retain their innate fear and suspicion of humans so that the can live the free life they were intended to live.
Please do not contact FoxTales to request a facility tour or ask if we have animals available who you can interact with.
Goals and Accomplishments
2024 Accomplishments
Even though FoxTales doubled our number of animal intakes from 2023, we still managed to accomplish some significant facility improvements and community outreach, including…
→ Expansion of our original fox enclosure.
→ Installation of a new fox enclosure. Installation of two additional raccoon enclosures.
→ Construction of a new customized skunk enclosure that provides a 6” depth so that the skunks can practice digging – a survival skill they will need upon release.
→ Provided educational sessions to the Scouts of America on September 28th and December 14th.
→ Attended the Fauquier SPCA Fall Festival on October 19th.
→ Attended the Fredericksburg SPCA Animal Rescue Festival on November 2nd.

2025 Goals
FoxTales has lofty goals for 2025 that we are hopeful we can accomplish with community support…
→ We hope to establish a volunteer program to provide desperately needed help with everyday chores like grocery runs, transporting animals and cleaning, which do not require certification or rabies vaccine. Email us at volunteer.foxtales.wildlife.rehab@gmail.com if you are interested in helping.
→ We are aggressively pursuing raising funds to construct a raccoon nursery and installing a second washing machine so that we can have a dedicated washer for the wickedly wild amount of laundry!
→ We also need to replace a large existing enclosure that has started to fail.
