Spotlight: 2 Chicks and a Critter (2CC)

March 2025

FoxTales Wildlife Rehab is so grateful for our partners-in-community. FoxTales has coordinated with 2CC many times over the last couple of years!

How did you first find out about FoxTales Wildlife Rehab?

2CC partners with wildlife rehabbers throughout northern Virginia and supports all rehabbers who are able to work with us to accomplish our mission of protecting wildlife while educating the public

What made you want to create 2 Chicks and a Critter and deal with wildlife issues?

2CC was founded after a group of veterans had worked with other large corporate companies that did not care about wildlife and their treatment was inhumane. We had all left those companies and later met and decided to create a company that can do better.

You have so many wonderful online reviews...what do you think makes your company and services so highly regarded?

I believe that our Google reviews are a direct impact of our customer relationships. We don't show up just to sell the customers something out of pressure or use scare tactics like a lot of companies these days. We show up to help address the concerns and educate our customers on why the wildlife is there and the best solutions to mitigate the human/wildlife conflict. My favorite is baby season, and then of course we direct our customers to FoxTales social media so they can follow "their babies" and watch them grow while also learning more and understanding wildlife at a better capacity.

Approximately how many requests for service do you generally receive each year?

We service between 4-12 customers a day and are open everyday to include weekends and holidays.

Can you share your thoughts on the importance of always trying to reunite a baby animal with its mother, (when possible)?

Babies depend on their mothers for development, food, warmth, and protection.  We know that keeping them together offers the babies the best chances of survival along with them learning those necessary survival skills that they will need once they're on their own.

Is there anything about wildlife that you wish the public would understand?

To help protect wildlife, it's important to understand how species interact within their ecosystems and how they are affected by environmental and human influences. Beyond their intrinsic value, wildlife and their habitats provide tangible economic benefits in which human societies rely on.
